Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24.10.2026
1. Who is responsible
FindPLS, at Turkiye, operates findpls and is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: findplscom@gmail.com.
This Policy covers visitors, account holders, people contacting an item owner through a finder page and people contacting support. It describes findpls's processing; external services you choose to open, such as your email or phone application, also have their own privacy terms.
2. Information we process
Accounts: name, email address, country, date of birth where collected, account status, language preferences and account timestamps. For password accounts, we store a password hash rather than a readable password. We also process session and password-reset records.
Google sign-in: when you choose Google sign-in, we receive identifiers and basic profile information needed to authenticate you, including your Google account identifier, name and email address. Choosing Google sign-in does not give findpls access to your Gmail inbox.
Tags: tag identifiers, item names, categories, styles, label text, owner notes, status and creation/deletion records. Where direct-contact options are available and enabled, we process the phone number or email address chosen for that purpose.
Finder messages: message text, optional contact information, an optional description of where an item was found and coordinates if the finder chooses to share location. We also process the associated tag, message time, country inferred from the connection and read status. A finder does not need an account to submit a message.
Support and service communications: support requests, replies, ticket status, administrative messages and delivery records for email or push notifications.
Device and usage data: connection information such as IP address, request details and security records; browser-stored identifiers; page path, visit time and approximate country; sign-in events; and push subscription endpoints and keys when notifications are enabled. Our infrastructure providers may process additional technical logs to operate and secure the Service.
3. Location and visibility
Approximate country may be inferred from your network connection. This is not reliable evidence of nationality or exact physical location.
Precise location is requested only through a location-sharing feature and your device's permission process. When you submit coordinates or a written location in a finder message, that information is shared with the tag owner. We do not use QR tags to continuously track an item or person.
Owner notes and any enabled public contact information are visible to people who can open the tag link. Finder messages and any supplied contact/location details are made available to the account that controls the tag. Authorised administrators may access relevant information for support, security and service operation. Messages are not represented as end-to-end encrypted.
4. Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, manage tags, connect finders with owners, deliver requested service messages, provide support, prevent misuse and understand how the Service is used.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use session cookies to keep you signed in and browser storage for features such as preferences and visit identification. The reviewed Service uses a persistent browser visitor identifier for first-party usage statistics. Those statistics can include repeated visits and automated activity and are not a count of verified people.
Non-essential storage must not be described as strictly necessary merely because it is first-party. You can manage storage through your browser; clearing essential storage may sign you out or reset preferences.
6. Who receives information
We disclose information to the people described in Section 3 and to providers needed to operate the Service, including:
- Hosting, database and security providers. The reviewed deployment uses Cloudflare infrastructure through the site's hosting platform.
- Google for optional sign-in and Gmail for outgoing service email. Sending through findpls's mailbox does not give us access to a user's mailbox.
- Your browser or device's push-delivery provider when notifications are enabled.
7. Your choices and rights
You can edit supported profile details, update owner notes and pause or delete tags through your account. Use available contact-visibility settings to choose what the finder page displays. You may decline location permission and manage notification permissions in your device or browser.
For account closure or a privacy request, email findplscom@gmail.com. Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Rights are not absolute, and we will explain any applicable limitation.
We may request proportionate verification to protect your information. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Where the GDPR applies, the usual period is one month, with permitted extensions explained to you. You may complain to the relevant data-protection authority, including in your country of residence where applicable.
10. Security and children
We use safeguards such as access controls, protected connections and password hashing. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Avoid submitting sensitive documents or unnecessary personal information in tags or messages.
Accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or older. An adult may manage a child's belongings without publicly identifying the child. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately so we can assess and address it.
11. Updates and contact
We will update the effective date when this Policy changes and provide appropriate notice of significant changes. Where required, new processing will not begin without the necessary consent or other lawful basis.
